Email Security Analyser
A free, browser-based tool to analyse email headers and read .eml/.msg email files. This app requires JavaScript to run — please enable it to use the header analyser and file reader.
What it does
- Checks SPF, DKIM, DMARC and ARC authentication results from pasted email headers
- Parses spam-score headers and shows the email's routing path hop by hop
- Opens .eml and .msg files to show the sender, recipient, subject, date, body and attachments
- Flags potentially dangerous attachment file types before download
All processing happens locally in your browser — email contents and attachments are never uploaded to a server.
Frequently asked questions
Is my email data uploaded anywhere? No — parsing happens entirely client-side. Only anonymised analysis metadata may be logged, never the email body or attachments.
How do I get headers from Gmail or Outlook? Gmail: three-dot menu > Show original. Outlook: File > Properties > Internet headers.
What's the difference between .eml and .msg? .eml is the standard format most clients export; .msg is Outlook's format, which this tool can open even on platforms where Outlook can't, like Mac.
